Over the weekend PlayStation Experience took place, before hand I made some predictions like most people on the internet.
Now I'm going to go over them and see if I got anything right...
Uncharted 4 DLC?
I predicted the Uncharted 4 story DLC would open PSX 2016, which it did. We found out the DLC will actually be a stand-alone game with the story length being somewhere between The Last of Us: Left Behind and Uncharted 4. The story seems to be focusing on Chloe Frazer & Nadine Ross not the much rumoured Sam Drake.
European Focus?
Well I was rather wrong this as all we saw was the predicted Horizon Zero Dawn trailer and nothing else.
Japanese Focus?
I did better here then with Europe as we did see more of Resident Evil 7 which was announced the Beginning Hour demo would be getting an update which would include PS4 Pro and PSVR support.
Ni No Kuni II was shown and dated for 2017. I got all that right but no Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts to be seen, we did however get a date for Nier: Automata alongside both Yakuza Kiwami & 6 going to be released in the west.
Partnerships?
We did see the first trailer of what is being called a AAA-Remaster of the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy on PS4.
Destiny 2 wasn't to be seen, however we did get word on a festive event called The Dawning.
I did think we would get something from Warner Bros but nothing from them.
Kojima?
Okay the new Death Stranding trailer was during The Game Awards not PSX which I did at the time think was likely due to Kojima picking up his industry icon reward at The Game Awards.
We did get some more details on Death Stranding like Mads Mikkelsens involvement being true as what seems to be a villainous role and finding out the game will be in the Guerrilla Games Decima engine which is being used with Horizon Zero Dawn.
Gio Corsi VITA Love?
Bang-on this one with Gio coming on stage showing a bunch of indies coming to the PS4 and....VITA. He announced a bunch of games out now like Lara Croft Go but not Full Throttle which I'd was a shoe-in, yet got a trailer the day before PSX announcing a date of just coming 2017.
Gio also used this to segue to the harry potter spell sounding gentleman to come out to shgow some PSVR games.
The Last of Us Part II
Well well my idea of Naughty Dog bookending PSX with Uncharted DLC and The Last of Us 2#masofdaswasright.
This was just things from my predictions which happened at PSX which had so much at the event like Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite, Knack 2, WipeOut Omega Collection for instance.
Overall PSX 2016 was a cracking show, with lots to look forward to in the coming years on PS4.
